Hi everyone .....
Well, firstly, thank to so many people for their kind words and thoughts during the past 3 weeks. As many of you may already know, Dad died on 16th Oct after extending his life by 10 months from his original date he was given for the Leukemia to take him away.
The last 2 weeks were spent in the amazing St. Clares Hospice in Jarrow who looked after him in such a way, words can't describe their dedication and attention to detail during his stay.
For a long time, Dad had wanted to go to sleep and not wake up. This wish was granted by St. Clares for which I know he was forecer grateful.
Looking back, he got to watch the Cricket World Cup, Durham win 2 trophies and 2nd in the League, The Rugby World Cup (except the final which England lost because he wasn't around to cheer them on), and of course he got to meet Benjamin, not only at home in September, but many times while in the Hospice. The nurses took this photo when Benjamin arrived ..... I treasure this.
Dad's spirit left the house on the Sunday night before the Funeral. Louise and I were in bed dozing when at 22.17 we heard all the wind chimes in the hallway 'play' like a chiming clock for about 3 minutes ... the front door went click, and then silence. It was scarey, but beautiful.

Of course, while being in North East, Benjamin did visit lots of other people .... including the now World Famous "Granny 2"
and of course "The North Sea"
Thanks again for the cards, letters, photos and memories. I will be back in the North East in 2 weeks time for more sorting out, plus 2 Soul Doubt Gigs (helps pay the air fare!!)
Andrew, Louise and Benjamin
